    Vandalia is located approximately 10 miles north of Downtown Dayton and is home of the James M. Cox Dayton International Airport and considered to be the “Cross Roads of America”, located at the intersection of the original National Road and the Dixie Highway (former US Highway 25). Conveniently situated near the intersection of Interstate 75 and Interstate 70, makes this location ideal for commuting. Its population was 15,246 during the 2010 census

    Founded originally in 1838, Vandalia effectively outgrew its “village” status in 1960 when it became a municipal corporation, and became a Charter City of the State of Ohio. Now it boasts of one of the most successful commercial developments throughout the Dayton-Cincinnati Metro area, called York Commons.  York Commons is home to around 2,100 hotel rooms, approximately 40 restaurants, and many mega shopping centers. Future Development for York Commons is a high-end Urban shopping district with high-end retail as well as increased office development.

    The median income for a household in the city was $44,463, and the median income for a family was $55,270.

    The School system is comprised of 3 Elementary Schools, 2 Middle Schools and 1 High School.
